Public Invited: Glick Peace Walk Unveiling this Wed., June 30
On Wed., June 30, the Indianapolis Cultural Trail: A Legacy of Gene & Marilyn Glick will unveil and illuminate the $2 million Glick Peace Walk. Located on Walnut St., between Meridian St. and Capitol Ave., the Glick Peace Walk includes 10 of 12 distinctive sculptural gardens that celebrate the lives and accomplishments of individuals, or "luminaries," who achieved greatness through peaceful pursuits.
Installed in 2011, Abraham Lincoln will be located on the southwest corner of Washington St. and Capitol Ave. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. will be located on the southeast corner of Washington St., Pennsylvania St. and Virginia Ave.

What: A special ceremony to unveil and illuminate the 10 luminary gardens
At dusk, each luminary will be honored and his/her plaza unveiled and illuminated, one by one, from Meridian St. to Capitol Ave. Professional actors, Priscilla Lindsay and Rob Johansen, will lead the ceremony to honor each person as the gardens are unveiled and illuminated with music from the Ronen Chamber Ensemble. To conclude the ceremony, the Indianapolis Children’s Choir will lead us in “Let There Be Peace On Earth” by candlelight.

Street Closure: Walnut St. between Meridian St. and Capitol Ave. will be closed from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. Meridian St., Illinois St. and Capitol Ave. will remain open.
